Barry A. Garst, Ph.D., is the director of Program Development and Research Application with the American Camp Association and an adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education at Virginia Tech. A native of Virginia, Barry attended camp from age 8 through 21, serving in every role, including camper, counselor-in-training, teen counselor, staff member, and volunteer adult leader. His professional career began in mental health services in North Carolina, where he worked as a counselor in wilderness, school, home, and clinical settings. He joined the faculty at Virginia Tech in 1998first as the director of programming for a large residential camp and conference center and then as an assistant professor of youth development from 2001 to 2007. Barry joined the American Camp Association in 2007 and now provides leadership to national projects across research, education, and business development.

Christine P. White, M.S., is the director of the Educational Programs Division with the National FFA Organization. Christine joined the organization in 2006 as an education specialist. Her role is to provide leadership and direction for the educational programs that are delivered to the more than 540,000 FFA members nationwide. Christine's professional career began in 1999 as an agricultural educator and FFA advisor. Christine spent seven years teaching agricultural education in Florida and Virginia.
